The next session, Public Option: Venture Capital and SPACs Driving the Future of the Advanced Transportation Market, will discuss why publicly traded companies like Google, Amazon, and UPS are leading record fundraising rounds in transportation companies like Rivian, Waymo, and Arrival. Market leaders like Daimler, Shell, Volvo, Toyota, and Siemens are also locking up leading startups for an advantage in transportation innovation. This session will explain what’s working and how it’s working, with insider knowledge from investors and entrepreneurs who will share their secrets about these trends, as well as predictions for the future.
The summit will close out with its final session, Big Energy: Global Energy Companies and Utilities Jumping In. Global energy companies and utilities have quickly become a major source of capital for advanced clean fleet transportation projects. In 2018 and 2019, California and New York utilities committed a combined $1.5 billion in investment over five years for EV infrastructure and fleet charging programs. Fueling giants Shell and BP became first global energy companies to announce a date for a net-zero transition.
