Volvo to highlight next-generation powertrain advancements, expanding electromobility solutions and new technologies at industry’s leading clean transportation event. EL, one of the U.S.’s largest fleet leasing providers, has placed an order for 400 Volvo VNLs – Volvo Trucks North America’s new flagship model for long-haul transport. This marks one of the largest Volvo VNL orders to date.
Volvo Trucks North America has introduced a new engine designed to meet the 2027 emissions standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) while continuing to deliver the performance, efficiency, and reliability fleets depend on. The new engine reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by over 80 percent compared with current standards, delivering the power to support cleaner operations without compromising capability.
For EPA 2027, Volvo introduces a next‑generation powertrain built to meet the world’s toughest emissions standards, anchored by the new Volvo D13 engine and backed by proven reliability from more than one million 13‑liter engines produced globally.

New capability allows the Volvo VNR Electric to power equipment using its own batteries, without a diesel engine running in the background. The result is a fully electric solution that can handle demanding jobs with zero-tailpipe emissions and significantly less noise, building on Volvo’s proven performance in customer operations.

Volvo Trucks North America is expanding its Turnkey Solutions program with the addition of two new providers, ABM and Lane Valente Industries. The program now includes three full-service providers — InCharge Energy, ABM and Lane Valente — offering customers a streamlined, end-to-end approach to deploying electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
